Sixth-Grader Shares his Talents

I had the privilege of interviewing Grayson Ehm, a young Christian who attends Trinity. Grayson lives with both parents, Meg and Randy Ehm, who are dedicated to their faith, worshiping God as active disciples within the church community. Grayson is an enthusiastic 11 years old attending Perkiomen Middle School West as a sixth-grader who enjoys extra-curricular activities including band and choir. He has played the trumpet for 3 years and has started to try playing the piano to further develop his musical skills. Grayson was born to parents who influenced his spiritual development by attending worship as a family and volunteering in various capacities including committees, faith formation, and the bell choir. When asked about his Faith in God, he replied, “I am still developing my faith in God.” The beginning of Genesis is his favorite scripture where they talk about God making the sky which he had always thought of like a ceiling. We are all called to worship God using our talents giving thanks and praise. Grayson enjoys singing in the Joyful Choristers choir at Trinity to proclaim God’s good news and he and his father, Randy, played a trumpet and trombone duet last summer during Church on the Lawn. He is also a member of the Intergenerational Worship team along with other youth and adults. This team plans events to engage different generations that worship at Trinity such as the Blessing of the Backpacks and evening services for Christmas Eve. Grayson is excited about being a member of Lifesong and confirmation as he gets older. Each Sunday, he looks forward to singing the different hymns and socializing with kids his age as well as adults at Trinity.
