MLK Day of Service

Trinity will be hosting a cross-generational service event for Rise Against Hunger. Rise Against Hunger is a fun educational way for groups to lend a hand to help people facing hunger throughout the world.

An assembly line process of packaging dried beans with nutritional ingredients will be held in Hyson Hall. Our packaging has increased by 5,000 packets to a total of 15,000. This allows for additional volunteers and we will be capped this year at 125. Individuals of all abilities are needed for this project. For example 50 50-pound bags of ingredients will need to be lifted off the RAH truck when we set up the assembly line for the day. Others will be able to sit or stand at assembly line tables to fill and weigh the packaged bags.

Elementary-aged children, aged 5 and up, will be invited to participate with an adult. These young students, older individuals and everyone in between are invited for a fun-filled day. Setup will begin around 8 am with the packaging event set to begin at 10 am. Look for more information in the Weekly and emails in December. The community is invited to participate but everyone must sign up on the link prior to the event.

Feel free to contact Tamera Hatton, Event Coordinator, at THatton@comcast.net with any questions.  I look forward to seeing you on MLK Day 2024!
