First Holy Communion

In the sacrament of Holy Communion, God is at work through the bread and wine. Jesus Christ himself comes to us in this holy meal, forgiving our sins, knitting us together as a community, and bringing us peace. While we never fully understand all that God does in Holy Communion, we encourage families to consider First Communion class for their child when they are in 3rd grade or earlier. If you or your child is curious and ready to receive this sacrament at a different time, you are invited to speak with one of our pastors about your faith journey and desire to receive this gift.

First Communion is celebrated twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring. This fall’s date is Sunday, November 17, 2024 at our 10:45 am service. The child partaking in first communion and a parent should attend one of two classes- Friday, Nov. 15 at 6:30-8 pm or Saturday, Nov. 16 at 9-10:30 am.
