Several years ago the Janke family, members of our church, set up a trust to provide educational scholarships for Trinity’s graduating seniors.

The scholarship shall be awarded annually to a Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church (TLC) member who is a graduating high school senior planning on continuing higher education. The recipient shall exemplify truthfulness, fairness, the ability to build goodwill and friendships and provide mutually beneficial experiences to all concerned.

Applications are to be submitted to the Endowment Program Committee by March 28th each year. Recommendations for award recipients will be made to the Congregation Council and voted on for approval at the April Council meeting. The award is presented in May.

Criteria for selection are based on the following:

1. The student has shared generously of their time and talents with the ministry of TLC during their high school year.
2. The student has successfully completed the requirements to graduate from high school and has been accepted to an accredited institution of higher learning.
3. The student reflects the character and spirit of the Janke Family Trust Educational Scholarship Fund outlined above.
4. The Committee will also consider the student’s financial need and their efforts made to balance work, school and church involvement.
5. The student shows a commitment to faith and the worship life of the church.
6. The student’s involvement in their community and service organizations.

• March 28 deadline for submitting an application.
• A decision will be made at April’s meeting.
