Gift Card Collection
The holiday season is approaching!
The Outreach Ministry Team will again be collecting gift cards to provide Christmas cheer to children and families in our community who are facing many challenges and hardships.
We are seeking donations of $25 gift cards which we will distribute to:
- Gemma Services (formerly Martin Luther School):
Gift cards from Target or Walmart for the children in residence - KenCrest group homes: Gift cards from Walmart, Target, Dollar Store, 5 Below, Wendy’s, McDonald’s, or Burger King for their adult residents
- Diakon In-home Program (formerly Lutheran Children and Family Services): Gift cards from Target or Walmart for the children in-home, or foster-care.
All these agencies have told us their need is greater than ever to provide support services and care to the children and families they serve. We ask that all gift cards be mailed or dropped off at the church office during the month of November. We will deliver these donations starting at the beginning of December so the staff(s) of each agency can make sure Christmas mornings are brighter for the clients they serve! Please add a note indicating which agency(s) you would like your gift(s)to go to!
The term “Ingathering” dates to the synod’s creation for a way for congregations to share with others in various ways during the holidays. Churches originally would collect to share with Social Ministry Organizations like Ken Crest, LCFS, Silver Springs, Martin Luther School, etc. It is not a title of our church but of a synod initiative we historically have been a part of.
