Trinity to join Lansdale Gun Violence Awareness Event

All are invited to join seven other area churches for Lansdale Gun Violence Awareness Day, Sunday, May 21 starting at 3:30 pm. This event begins and ends at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Following a short service, participants will walk to raise awareness and pass out information regarding the number of deaths that have occurred in Southeast Pennsylvania due to gun violence.

At Trinity, participants will gather on the front lawn to hear brief comments from area leaders, hear the names read of individuals from our area who have died by gun violence and be given an opportunity to contact local legislators.

In addition, memorials will be erected at both St. John’s and Trinity to the individuals from our area who have died by gun violence. This event is organized in collaboration with Heeding God’s Call to End Gun Violence, an interfaith group working to eliminate illegal handguns from our community. For more information, please contact Pr. Bill Petry, (bpetry@trinitylansdale.com), Richard Detweiler or Barbara Devlin.
